Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) recently unveiled ‘KCR Nagar,’ Asia’s largest government-funded housing complex, located in Kollur, on the outskirts of Hyderabad. This groundbreaking project aims to address the housing needs of the weaker sections of society, covering an expansive area of 145.50 acres. With a total investment of Rs 1432.50 crores, KCR Nagar comprises 15,660 double-bedroom flats divided into 117 blocks.

Inauguration and Infrastructure
The grand inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of Telangana Chief Minister KCR, accompanied by several cabinet colleagues and government officials. As a symbol of growth and sustainability, KCR planted a sapling on the premises, signifying the beginning of a prosperous and eco-friendly community. During the event, the Chief Minister inspected the housing units using a battery-operated vehicle, showcasing the commitment to innovation and modernity.
The housing complex offers a plethora of amenities to its residents. It encompasses expansive parks with dedicated cycling and walking tracks, providing opportunities for recreation and a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, KCR Nagar includes a bus terminal, a fire station, petrol bunks, schools, banks, and post offices, ensuring the convenience of its inhabitants. Furthermore, the complex boasts three shopping complexes with 118 shops, catering to the daily needs of the residents within the community.
The housing units within KCR Nagar have been meticulously designed to provide comfortable living spaces for the beneficiaries. Each unit features two bedrooms, a hall, attached toilets, a kitchen, and a utility area, ensuring a well-rounded living experience. Furthermore, the project places a strong emphasis on sustainability by incorporating various eco-friendly initiatives.
To promote a clean and aesthetic environment, KCR Nagar has implemented underground electric cabling, eliminating the sight of unsightly wires and poles. The complex also features underground and stormwater drainage systems, effectively managing water flow and preventing flooding during heavy rainfall. Additionally, the housing complex houses sewage treatment plants to ensure proper disposal and treatment of waste. A solid waste management yard has been established to manage and minimize the impact of waste generated within the community.
